Science | Prof. Bin Tan's Team at SUSTech Makes Important Progress in Asymmetric Photocatalysis

The Tan group has introduced a new paradigm of “relay energy transfer” enabling asymmetric photocatalytic [4+2] cycloadditions, including dearomative cycloadditions of quinolines with alkenes, delivering chiral products in 46–99% yields. The work was published in Science (2026, 392, 850–857).
